Amber Discovers a New World of Music

As a student majoring in both biology and music, many people ask me why both? There was no exact reason as to why I am doing both, except for the fact that I genuinely love both. So, to make it easier on me I try to find connections between the two. Sometimes, if you look hard enough, they are really there. Since my primary focus for biology is to one day become a pediatrician, I can't help but think about the children of the tribes. We really only talked about the adult population of Native Americans, but what about the children? Growing up, didn't your parents sing to you any lullabies? I know mine did! So, after some digging, I learned there is not a lot of information on the web about children's lullaby songs. However, I did find something! Hi! I'm Amber Danielle. I am currently a student at Converse College and I couldn't be more excited for this journey. Music has been a huge part of my life. I grew up with parents who played various instruments when they younger. When it was time for me to decide if music was something I would want to partake in, or if I should stay with playing soccer, I was initially persuaded by the 6th grade music teacher. My first couple of weeks of band class, I was so far behind my classmates, I remember asking the teacher if I could try something else because I didn't think I was ever going to be able to make a sound on the flute. Needless to say, she didn't let me and neither did my parents.
